Sautéed Paprika Potato Rounds
Cauliflower with Paprika Crumbs

          A little spice for mid-winter with this paprika - themed dinner.   We'll finish the cauliflower over the weekend.

Pork Chops, German Style

Total time: 35 minutes
     Braised pork chops, flavored with beer (or wine) and paprika, make a warming dish for cold weather.

Sautéed Paprika Potato Rounds

Total time: 30 minutes
    Rather than baking these chips, I sautéed them.  They get a bit more crisp, and it's easier to add seasonings as they cook.

Cauliflower with Paprika Crumbs

Total time: 20 minutes
   If you want to be really decadent toss the cauliflower with another pat of butter before adding the crumbs.... I didn't.  Toasting the paprika and thyme with the bread crumbs releases the flavors.

Cauliflower with Paprika Crumbs Ingredients:

 Instructions:

Cooking schedule: 35 minutes
Assemble all food, utensils and serving dishes
Utensils: measuring cups, spoons, knives,
large skillet, medium skillet with lid, medium
saucepan with steamer basket and lid

Brown pork chops
Slice onion
Mince all garlic
Slice potatoes, sauté
Trim, cut mushrooms
Turn chops
Cut cauliflower
Remove chops, sauté paprika
Add onion, sauté
Add garlic, mushrooms to onion, sauté

Steam cauliflower
Add beer or wine, stock, thyme to skillet, stir
Return chops, cover, simmer
Season potatoes, turn, season other side
Add Worcestershire to potatoes
Dissolve cornstarch in water
    Pause while it all cooks
Remove cauliflower, keep warm
Sauté garlic for cauliflower
Remove chops, increase heat
Add cornstarch, thicken
Add paprika, crumbs, thyme salt to butter, sauté
Remove potatoes
Sprinkle crumbs on cauliflower
Spoon sauce over chops, Serve
