This week on the Menu Plan:
When using whole, canned tomatoes, which I do in winter, sometimes
the recipe needs the sauce that comes with them, sometimes not. Sometimes they come packed in juice, sometimes sauce.
If the recipe says to 'discard sauce', you can save it, if you like, in freezer bags, to use in other recipes or to add to soups, stews, etc., especially if it's a thick sauce.
