Shepherd's Pie with Pork

    This is a quick and easy way to use leftover meat and potatoes. A true Shepherd's Pie is made with lamb (if it's beef it's called a Cottage Pie).

Total time: 35 minutes
    Made with leftover pork instead of the traditional ground lamb, it's still an easy, delicious, warm and comforting winter meal.

Shepherd's Pie with Pork Ingredients:


Cooking schedule: 35 minutes
Assemble all food, utensils and serving dishes
Utensils: measuring cups, spoons, knives,
large skillet with lid, baking dish, medium bowl

Turn oven on 400F (200C)
Chop onion, sauté
Chop celery, add to onion
Chop carrot, add to skillet
Mince garlic, add to skillet
Trim, slice mushrooms, add to skillet

Soften mashed potatoes
Cut pork, add to skillet
Add mustard, herbs, stock, sauce
Bring to a simmer, cover
Dissolve cornstarch in water
Thicken sauce
Put pork, veg into baking dish
Top with mashed potatoes, bake
     15 minute break
Remove, serve, eat
