Thyme for                         Cooking

This week we have a quintessential French dish: Chicken with Rice; probably on the stove of 25% of France in any given week.  It's easy, delicious and enough for 2 meals.  We're getting a cabbage this week but only using part of it.  We'll finish it up next week in a hearty and heart-healthy Vegetable Beef Soup.  If your brown rice takes longer than 15 minutes to cook, pre-cook it on Wed. for Thursdays dinner.  (I'll remind you)    Bon Appétit!

Friday:       Tomato and Red Pepper Soup
Red Snapper on a Bed of Leeks
Potatoes O'Brian

We're having a Spanish Chardonnay from the Somotano region, Colleccio, from Vinas del Vero. Our red is also Spanish, a Cabernet Sauvignon from Perelada.

If you would like to learn more about French wines check out this site french wine a day.

Saturday:   Tomato Flan with Avocado
Braised Chicken and Rice

We'll finish the Colleccio with the tomato flan and have a Bordeaux with the Chicken, from Pessac Leognan, Château de Fieuzal.

Sunday:     Pasta alla Amatriciana
Fresh Fruit

Monday:    Baked Chicken and Rice

Tuesday:  Glazed Turkey Cutlets
Roasted Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts

Wednesday:  Pork Tenderloin with Mustard & White Wine Sauce Pasta
Broccoli with Garlic and Parmesan

Thursday:  Italian Beef and Cabbage
