The herbs are starting.... If you have an herb garden you are probably seeing the first of the chives and tarragon. I use a lot of fresh herbs during the summer. You can substitute dried in many cases, but, consider planting a few - just in pots, if nothing else.
Green garlic looks similar to a green onion. It's very young garlic, before the cloves form, and is quite mild. Use as much of the green tops as you can. If you can't get it, substitute green onion and 1 clove garlic.
